The reaction is rarely the whole story.
Most people notice the moment first. The conversation they replay. The responsibility they keep picking up. The follow-up they avoid. The silence they rush to fill. The reaction that felt completely reasonable until they looked back at it later.
Those moments can look unrelated. Often, they are not. The Re-Project helps you recognise the protective Script underneath them — so you can see what keeps repeating before you try to change it.
You keep the peace. Then replay everything.
You let the moment pass rather than say what you really need. Later, the conversation keeps running in your head - along with everything you wish you had said.
You become the one who carries it.
Someone needs help and you step in. You organise, fix, reassure or take responsibility - then wonder why you feel exhausted, invisible or taken for granted.
You know the move. Pressure changes it.
You know you should ask another question, hold the silence or make the follow-up. Then the moment gets uncomfortable and you explain, retreat, push or delay instead.
Something small gets bigger than it should.
A comment, a look, a delay or a change in tone hits harder than expected. The reaction comes first. Understanding why often comes much later.
The moment changes. The pattern underneath it can stay remarkably familiar.
A Script is not a label for who you are. It is a protective pattern that can shape what a moment means to you, what you feel under pressure, and the move you make before you have had time to think it through.
Something happens.
A conversation changes tone. Someone pulls away. A buyer hesitates. You feel criticised, overlooked, needed, uncertain or exposed.
Your pattern gives it meaning.
Before you have consciously decided what is happening, your protective Script can interpret the moment through what it already knows, expects and has learned to protect.
The familiar move follows.
You fix, please, prove, withdraw, control, push, perform, avoid or carry. The situation may be new. The protective move can be very old.
Where is the pattern showing up most?
The same underlying patterns can shape very different parts of life. Start with the place you are noticing it most - personal life and relationships, or sales and work.
When the pattern shows up in life.
Relationships. Conflict. Over-giving. Withdrawal. Self-talk. Pressure. The reactions you understand afterwards but struggle to catch in the moment.
Explore Unfelt Self →When the pattern shows up when you sell or lead.
Follow-up. Price. Silence. Objections. Confidence. Leadership. The moments where you know what to do, but pressure changes the move.
Explore Sales Scripts →Seeing the pattern helps. Catching it earlier changes what happens next.
The Re-Project is not about giving you another label. It is about helping you recognise the sequence sooner, interrupt the automatic move, and practise a different response while the moment is still happening.
Choose Your Starting Point →Catch the moment
Notice the conversation, pressure, reaction or familiar situation where the old move usually begins.
Give the pattern a name
Your Assessment gives you language for the Script most likely shaping what happens when the moment gets uncomfortable.
See what the pattern is trying to protect.
Look beneath the behaviour. The old move usually makes more sense when you understand what your system believes it is trying to prevent, preserve or secure.
Interrupt the automatic move
Catch the Script before it finishes the sequence. Pause, ask a cleaner question, stay in the conversation, hold the silence, or choose the response the moment actually needs.
Practise until choice gets easier
The goal is not perfection. It is recognising the pattern sooner, recovering faster, and giving yourself more choice the next time the old Script wants to take over.
“What changes when the work starts to land.”
Recognition is often the first relief. When the pattern has language, people can stop getting caught in the reaction and start seeing what has been driving it.
“This sort of coaching from Grant makes you re-think what you thought you knew about managing a team and provides a strong human touch with a modern well-being approach to management on all levels without the fluff talk or the need to be an enforcer. (This is people engaging with people for greater outcomes)
He creates a safe and welcoming space where I feel heard and understood, whether I'm seeking guidance or simply needing someone to listen. Grant's genuine care and support have been invaluable to me during difficult times, and his insights have helped me achieve personal milestones I once thought were out of reach.
I've gained a newfound sense of confidence, purpose, and direction in my professional life. I've achieved milestones that once seemed out of reach and have a renewed sense of optimism for the future. The transformation I've experienced is truly remarkable, and I owe it all to the exceptional level of service that Grant provides.
Sometimes you do not need another report. You need a conversation.
A Listening Lab is a private place to unpack what is happening, connect it to the pattern underneath, and get clearer about what needs to happen next. You can bring a Re-Project result with you, but you do not need one.
A good place to start if:
- A result has landed and you want help connecting it to real life
- You are carrying a conversation, decision or situation you need to say out loud
- You want a neutral place to think clearly before deciding what comes next
- You want to leave with one useful next move rather than more theory
Built from the gap between knowing behaviour and understanding what drives it.
Grant Shields spent over 1,500 hours applying Extended DISC and sales competency assessment insight in real coaching conversations. Both approaches were useful. But the same question kept showing up: what is the recognisable pattern underneath the behaviour when pressure changes the way someone responds?
The Re-Project grew from that gap. Its 14 Scripts give those recurring patterns language - not as fixed personality labels, but as a practical way to understand what people protect, repeat and do when the moment gets uncomfortable.
Fair questions. Straight answers.
Is this a personality test?
No. The Re-Project identifies protective patterns rather than fixed personality types. The aim is not to put you in a box. It is to help you recognise the Script that tends to shape what happens when the moment gets uncomfortable.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. Both pathways start with a free Assessment and a free first report - the Snapshot for Personal or The Read for Sales. Go deeper only if the result feels useful and you want more.
Is The Re-Project therapy or a clinical assessment?
No. The Re-Project is a coaching, education and self-insight framework. It is not a clinical diagnosis, mental health assessment or substitute for professional healthcare.
Which Assessment should I take?
Choose Unfelt Self if the pattern is showing up in relationships, reactions, self-talk, conflict or everyday life. Choose the Sales Script Assessment if it is showing up in sales, follow-up, price, confidence, leadership or work conversations.
You do not need to understand the whole pattern yet. Just start where it is showing up most.
Choose the Personal pathway if the pattern is showing up in life, relationships or reactions. Choose Sales if it is showing up in selling, confidence, leadership or work under pressure.
